The MLC will come into force on 20th August 2013 and will apply to all commercially operated Sunseeker Yachts of 500 tons. It effectively aligns Sunseeker Charter UK Yacht Crew and other Super Yacht Crew with existing employment law ashore.
Current certification required by the various IMO Conventions and UK Flag State.Certificates must be valid at all times and are most likely to be inspected by Port State and Flag State Authorities. Solent Marine Events specialise in Maritime Law and can assist in the certification process.
IMO MARPOL Annex VI refers to Air Pollution and in a sense is like emission controls in cars. Its aim is to reduce emissions from vessels main propulsion engines and applies to all Super Yachts with an engine output greater than 130KW.

The Marpol Convention Annex 1 Oil Pollution applies to all vessels including UK commercial charter motor yachts and private motor yachts. Yachts whose tonnage is equal to or greater than 400 gross tons have a statutory requirement to carry on board statutory documents and certificates.
UK Law hours of work for commercial Sunseeker Charters UK yacht crew members. Mandatory records are inspected by Port State Control Officers and MCA Surveyors.
Sunseeker Charter Yacht Management – MARPOL Annex 1 Oil Record Book (ORB). The ORB is an official document and must be completed accurately as it is a vital piece of evidence. It is completed by the engineer in charge of the operation and signed by the Master to warrant that the entries are true and correct.
IMO Marpol Convention Annex 5 Garbage now applies to all Sunseeker Motor Yachts exceeding 100 gross tons. Recent legislation changes implemented in January 2013.
